The Eye of the Wind Turbine experience offers breathtaking 360° views of Vancouver’s skyline. Once atop Grouse Mountain, use your free time to go even higher in order to have the best viewpoint in the city!
Take the Grouse Mountain Skyride tram 1,200 metres (3,700 feet) to reach the top of Grouse Mountain. The views here are already astonishing. Go even higher by accessing the Eye of the Wind, a massive wind turbine that you can see from almost everywhere in Vancouver!
Once you reach the top of Grouse Mountain, it is a short 10-15 minute walk to the Peak Chairlift. From here, you will take an elevator to ascend the tower and step out onto the viewing pod at the turbine’s hub. You will be in awe of the size of this zero-emission electrical generator as the blades silently harness the power of the wind.
Inspiring and revolutionary, this is the world’s first and only wind turbine that allows you to stand in a clear glass viewing pod at the top of the tower, only three metres away from its massive, rotating blades! Stand in awe of the 360° views as you come face to face with the future of responsible energy.
The Eye of the Wind is a 75 metre (250 ft) diameter wind turbine which provides over 30% of the resort’s electrical power.
